Relying on talent alone, the Texas football program could try and nab the services of the former Miami Hurricanes four-star recruit and to-be senior tight end Michael Irvin II. The son of the former Cane and Dallas Cowboys great wide receiver Michael Irvin, Irvin II hasn’t got to make much of an impact in college yet.

Irvin II has played in just eight games in two seasons with Miami up to this point. He’s totaled just 11 catches for 111 receiving yards and no touchdowns. But there is a good level of speed and route running ability that Irvin II brings to the table that is hard to match by any other tight end left in the transfer portal.

The grand prize coming out of the ACC in the transfer portal at the tight end position was rising senior Tre’ McKitty of the Florida State Seminoles. But head coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs scooped up McKitty back in January.

At least Texas could still get their hands on a rather talented ACC product at tight end with Irvin II.

The Fort Lauderdale, FL, native and St. Thomas Acquinas product did have offers from other highly touted programs during his recruitment like Georgia and the Michigan Wolverines. But he chose to stay home at take his talents to South Beach. Texas could be the final stop for this Florida native after his time in Coral Gables is done.
