1. Buffalo Bills

If there’s a team that could be an under-the-radar contender in the NFL this coming season in the AFC specifically, it is the Buffalo Bills. While we shouldn’t write off head coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots yet, in the post-Tom Brady era, the Bills are going to have a leg up this season compared to the last few.

Former Wyoming Cowboys quarterback Josh Allen is hoping to make more strides in 2020 compared to 2019, and get the Bills over the hump. Last year it was the Houston Texans that ousted the Bills just one game into their playoff run. Allen had some costly mistakes in that game, but the defense went into total lockdown mode against an MVP contender in quarterback Deshaun Watson.

At the two defensive end spots in their 4-3 scheme, the Bills are projected to have standout Trent Murphy and and veteran Jerry Hughes. Murphy and Hughes as two potential starting defensive ends for the Bills aren’t going to be the problem in the immediate future. Long-term depth needs in the front seven will be.

Roach would be a good fit with the Bills, more than likely as a smaller defensive end in the front seven rotation or as a backup outside linebacker. He could be a pure edge rusher that provides a good change of pace beyond Murphy, Hughes, and weak-side linebacker Matt Milano.

The Bills sound like a good spot for Roach to find a winning team right out of the gates.
