2. New York Jets

The New York Jets are going to need help all over the place in the 2020 NFL Draft and throughout the rest of this free agent cycle. While the Jets did upgrade at a number of positions on the offensive side of the ball so far this offseason, they need to do more good work in this year’s draft to continue moving in the right direction.

Last season, the Jets ranked dead last in total yards and 31st in the NFL in total points scored. They also ranked dead last in the NFL in rushing yards per attempt (3.3), and second to last in rushing yards (1,257) and rushing touchdowns (6). The fact that the Jets only had six rushing touchdowns last season should tell the whole story.

Next year the Jets offense will be headlined by the duo of former USC Trojans quarterback Sam Darnold and former Pittsburgh Steelers and Michigan State Spartans running back Le’Veon Bell. But the Jets still need help at tight end, in the receiving corps, and along the offensive line. Breshad Perriman and Quincy Enunwa are not going to form one of the top wide receiver duos in the NFL.

Much like he could do for the Chiefs, Shackelford could offer a lot of value to the Jets in the later rounds of the draft. The Jets did land the former Mizzou Tigers center/guard Conner McGovern after his tenure with the Detroit Lions ended. But McGovern had injury troubles in the past, and Jonotthan Harrison doesn’t look like the long-term answer.
