The second addition of the day on Friday afternoon to the Longhorns 2021 recruiting class came by way of a commitment from three-star Warren Easton wide receiver Casey Cain. The 6-foot-2 and 175 pound New Orleans, LA, native Cain chose Texas over offers from a dozen other schools. And he announced his decision just after 2 p.m. CT on his Twitter timeline on May 15.

Among the dozen other schools that sent Cain a scholarship offer that he chose to pick Texas over included the Arkansas State Red Wolves, Houston Cougars, Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, Memphis Tigers, Tulane Green Wave, Virginia Cavaliers, and Vanderbilt Commodores.

It was not all that long ago that Cain received his offer from Texas in the first place, back on April 24.

He had received offers from the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, Arkansas State, Texas, and Vanderbilt, all since April 7.

However, Cain ranks as the nation’s No. 809 2021 high school prospect, No. 121 wide receiver, and No. 23 prospect out of Louisiana (247Sports Composite). And the final set of 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions had two experts picking Cain to commit to Texas over the rest of the field.

At an Opening Regional Combine last year, Cain timed in around a 4.70 40-yard dash time. He is a three-sport athlete that competes in football, basketball, and track and field. He’s going to bring a more versatile skill set that can fit into multiple areas for the Longhorns at wideout, and a lot of explosiveness for a three-star prospect.

Cain has good hands, but has a lot of polishing to work on in his game. Like was true for the Longhorns former three-star wide receiver signee Kennedy Lewis, Cain will be a good potent get over the long haul.
