The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex continues to play a very high level of importance for a Longhorns recruiting class on this list. Up next out of the DFW Metroplex is the elite five-star 6-foot-3 and 195 pound Southlake Carroll pro-style quarterback Quinn Ewers. He might also be the prized get that the Longhorns could pursue during the 2022 recruiting cycle.

The splash commitment that Herman and recently hired offensive coordinator Mike Yurich could potentially be seeking out at the quarterback position could be waiting here in Ewers. He ranks as the nation’s No. 2 2022 high school prospect, top overall pro-style quarterback, and top prospect out of Texas.

He only ranks behind five-star Monsignor Pace strong-side defensive end Shemar Stewart among the top rated 2022 high school prospects in the nation.

Ewers now holds offers from 27 different schools include Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, and Washington. The five programs listed as “warm” in his pursuit includes Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas.

During his sophomore season at Southlake Carroll, Ewers registered 4,003 passing yards, 45 passing touchdowns, three interceptions, 568 rushing yards, and nine rushing touchdowns. He had a sensational sophomore season, and he might only get better from here.
