5. Georgia Bulldogs

It seems like the school that would be on the outside looking in to land the pledge of Turner would be the one that is furthest out of state and that didn’t get a visit from him all that recently. A recent 247Sports piece mainly highlighting the Texas A&M recruiting targets for 2021 (paid content) did mention that Georgia and LSU were largely on the “outside looking in” too.

Georgia is pretty stocked at the defensive end and edge rusher positions. They currently have the No. 13 ranked strong-side defensive end in the 2021 class committed, with four-star Douglas County product Jonathan Jefferson. Head coach Kirby Smart might be missing out on this one.

4. LSU Tigers

All of momentum that head coach Ed Orgeron and LSU has on the recruiting trail right now makes for a bit of a bump over the Dawgs on this list. LSU is taking a big chunk out of a lot of the potential commits that the Longhorns could’ve landed in the 2021 class. Four-star weak-side defensive end Landon Jackson is a good example of that.

LSU has six defensive ends coming back, as of now, for the 2020 season and two commits at the position in the 2021 class. Little to say that there’s little positional need for that at Turner’s talent level in Baton Rouge right now. There also hasn’t been as much traction between Turner and LSU as the rest of the programs that have yet to be listed here.
