Texas football leading early for 4-Star 2022 Garland S Chace Biddle
The 2022 Texas football recruiting class could get off its feet soon enough by possibly landing 4-Star Garland S Chace Biddle.
There is going to be a lot of emphasis put on the 2022 Texas football recruiting class landing their first commitment in the coming months. Texas has a decent 2021 recruiting class built up at this point in time, but 2022 has yet to land a single commitment as of the afternoon of July 14. It won’t be long until the Longhorns are the lone Big 12 program without a 2022 commitment if they wait all too long.
The good news is that there is a handful of emerging targets that could be candidates to become the first 2022 Longhorns commit. One that appears to be currently trending to the Longhorns 2022 class hails from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Four-star Garland 6-foot and 190 pound safety Chace Biddle appears to be a leading candidate to be the first Texas commit in this class.
The latest edition of the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions has Biddle projected to commit to Texas over the rest of the field. And even the Rivals FutureCast has all of their analysts and publishers picking Biddle to commit to Texas over the competition.
Biddle currently holds just over a dozen schools on his growing offer sheet. The highlights of his 13 offers came from the Longhorns, Oklahoma Sooners, Texas A&M Aggies, Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Baylor Bears, Florida State Seminoles, LSU Tigers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and USC Trojans.
Ironically enough one of the coaches recruiting Biddle from the USC program is former Texas interim defensive coordinator Craig Naivar. After his time with Texas was done, Naivar joined the USC staff under newly hired defensive coordinator Todd Orlando. At Texas, Orlando was replaced in the defensive coordinator role by former Rutgers head coach Chris Ash.
Moreover, Biddle ranks as the nation’s No. 100 2022 high school prospect, No. 6 safety, and No. 19 prospect out of Texas (Top247). During the 2019 season with Garland High School, he registered 43 total tackles, one tackle for loss, and two pass breakups.
Landing Biddle as the first commitment in the 2022 class would accomplish two major things for Texas. First, he would at least get the ball rolling for the Longhorns with a top 100 ranked high school prospect in the nation. And second he would continue the momentum of solid safety recruiting that head coach Tom Herman did since taking over on the Forty Acres four years ago.
