There might be more confusion surrounding the recruitment of the Ole Miss Rebels rising sophomore talented cornerback Deantre Prince than any other DB in the transfer portal at this point in time. Much earlier in the offseason, Prince put his name in the transfer portal, just to have possibly withdrawn it just as fast.

But Prince doesn’t have his name officially on the Ole Miss football roster in the midst of summer workouts. There was somewhat of a cryptic tweet that he posted back in May that showed him in a “new profile pic” still in an Ole Miss uniform. That would lead most to believe that he is returning to Oxford for his second season in college.

But the point of putting his name on this list is that if there is any shot that the Longhorns would have in getting him to the Forty Acres, they should prioritize winning him over. Prince had a really good freshman season with Ole Miss, where he registered 25 total tackles, two interceptions, and two pass deflections.

Prince signed with Ole Miss as a three-star cornerback/athlete prospect in their 2019 recruiting class. He ranked as the nation’s No. 449 2019 high school prospect, No. 27 athlete, and No. 18 prospect out of Mississippi (247Sports Composite). He also held offers from the likes of the Georgia Bulldogs, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Texas A&M Aggies, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Auburn, and Michigan.
