3. TCU Horned Frogs

As it originally stood, the matchup between the Longhorns and TCU Horned Frogs looked to be one of the more difficult games that head coach Tom Herman will have to face up against this fall. The original matchup between Texas and TCU was set for Nov. 14 at home at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

And with the Big 12’s 2020 adjusted season schedule reportedly on the way in the next couple of weeks, it will be interesting to see where the Longhorns-Horned Frogs games winds up falling in line. With the expected significant decrease in fan capacity at DKR this fall, getting TCU at home won’t matter as much, though.

That’s why this game becomes so much more notable now that fan capacity could be limited for home games this fall. Getting TCU at home originally looked like a huge advantage, but not so much at this point. Head coach Gary Patterson is sure to have his team ready to go.

He has a more experienced squad coming back to the 2020 season, and more talent at the skill positions. Rising sophomore dual-threat quarterback Max Duggan will highlight the group of returning talent for the Horned Frogs along with safety Trevon Moehrig, linebacker Garrett Wallow, and wide receiver Taye Barber.

A big loss for TCU this year is former star elusive wide receiver Jalen Reagor, who will be playing on Sundays from here on out. But TCU will be expecting the likes of former five-star Texas running back recruit and Houston, TX, native Zachary Evans to step up if he’s ready to go this fall, along with rising redshirt sophomore skill position threat Darwin Barlow.
