Texas Football: Predicting next commit for Longhorns 2022 class
1) Predicting next commit in the 2022 Texas football recruiting class: Jaydon Blue, RB
Potentially the strongest position group on the offensive side of the ball, outside of quarterback for the most part, in the last few signing classes for the Longhorns was running back. Texas signed the nation’s top rated running back prospect in their 2020 recruiting class, with five-star Salpointe Catholic product and Arizona native Bijan Robinson.
And Texas has their sights on their next running back targets for both the 2021 and 2022 classes. They could land either one of elite five-star Lakeview Centennial running back product Camar Wheaton or four-star Cy-Fair product LJ Johnson in the 2021 class. For 2022, a good place to start is with highly touted four-star Klein Cain running back product Jaydon Blue.
A prospect that is going to have some schools after him that provide stiff competition for Texas will be a fun recruitment to follow from here on out. But the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions are favoring Texas over LSU and the rest of the field early on.
There are more than 30 schools on Blue’s lengthy offer sheet. The highlighting schools on his offer sheet includes Texas, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, USC, Baylor, Florida, Florida State, Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Penn State, SMU, Stanford Cardinal, TCU, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech.
Blue ranks as the nation’s No. 51 2022 high school prospect, No. 4 running back, and No. 7 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). He is the highest rated running back prospect that Texas has offered for their 2022 class so far in that cycle.
