Big 12 Football: Power rankings following more chaos in Week 4
Big 12 Football power rankings post-Week 4
10. Kansas Jayhawks 0-2 (0-1 Big 12)
There was not much luck for former LSU Tigers and Oklahoma State head coach Les Miles in keeping his turnaround job with the Kansas football program alive at the outset of the 2020 season. Kansas couldn’t even top the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers out of the Sun Belt in their season opener at home.
Kansas took on Baylor in their Big 12 opener this weekend. And while they kept the game close at first, their success waned down the stretch.
9. West Virginia Mountaineers 1-1 (0-1 Big 12)
The West Virginia Mountaineers actually didn’t look all that bad in Week 4 of the 2020 college football season. West Virginia and former Troy Trojans head coach Neal Brown took on Oklahoma State at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater on Sep. 26. The final score that went in Oklahoma State’s favor, 27-13, wasn’t a true indication of how this game played out.
West Virginia played well most of the way against Oklahoma State, but just couldn’t convert when it counted the most. Former Bowling Green quarterback and senior Jarret Doege was up and down. They take on Baylor on Oct. 3 to try and get their first win in Big 12 play.
8. TCU Horned Frogs 0-1 (0-1 Big 12)
Outside of Kansas, it’s hard to make out who the worst teams in the Big 12 will be this fall. This spot on the list just happens to go to head coach Gary Patterson and the Horned Frogs since they didn’t get a non-conference win in, and fell short against Iowa State on Sep. 26. Although that loss to Iowa State could’ve easily fallen in TCU’s favor.
Sophomore quarterback Max Duggan did make his debut in this game, and was impressive in doing so. He registered 241 passing yards, on 16-of-19 passing, to go along with three passing touchdowns and one interception.
