Big 12 Football honorable mentions for the 2021 NFL Draft

Tylan Wallace, Oklahoma State WR

Senior Oklahoma State Cowboys star wide receiver Tylan Wallace, a preseason Biletnikoff Award favorite, got off to a pretty slow start by his usual standard this season. The 6-foot and 190 pound Texas native Wallace has not registered a single touchdown catch so far this season. He does have 10 catches for 172 yards, though.

Part of the reason for the slow start for Wallace this fall is the tumultuous quarterback situation Oklahoma State is going through. The Pokes started a true freshman, former four-star recruit Shane Illingworth, on Sep. 26 at home against the West Virginia Mountaineers. Spencer Sanders might be able to return from a lower-body injury in Week 5 for Oklahoma State, as they take on Kansas.

Dante Stills, West Virginia DL

The team that Wallace and the Pokes faced this weekend was head coach Neal Brown’s West Virginia squad. And the best 2021 NFL Draft prospect on that West Virginia team, as it appears heading out of Week 4, is junior defensive end/defensive tackle Dante Stills. The 6-foot-4 and 280 pound defensive lineman is versatile enough to fit at multiple spot along the line.

Stills also had a good start to the 2020 season so far. He’s registered seven total tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss, and he didn’t even get a full game’s worth of snaps in West Virginia’s season opener.

Sam Ehlinger, Texas QB

There’s multiple quarterbacks around the Big 12 that could find themselves falling the mid-to-late rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft. But none had a hotter start to the season so far than senior star Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger. The Longhorns got more than 700 total yards, 11 total touchdowns, and just one interception out of Ehlinger thus far.

Texas topped Texas Tech by a final score of 63-56 in overtime in Week 4 in thrilling fashion, where Ehlinger registered more than 350 total yards, six total touchdowns, and just one pick.
