Texas football head coach Tom Herman almost had a run in with a bus in an interview ahead of kick off of Red River against OU on the morning of Oct. 10.

Ahead of the annual Red River Rivalry game between Texas football and the Oklahoma Sooners, with kick off taking place on the morning of Oct. 10 at the Cotton Bowl at the Texas State Fairgrounds in Dallas, head coach Tom Herman got a quick wake up call. In an interview with on the Fox Sports Saturday morning show “Big Noon Kickoff” ahead of the start of the Red River Rivalry game between Texas and Oklahoma, Herman got a close call while talking with reporter Jenny Taft.

While Taft was interviewing Herman outside of the Cotton Bowl just ahead of kick off for Red River, there was a bus that was backing up awful close to him. Herman tried to remain calm while answering Taft’s questions in this interview, but the bus did keep getting closer and closer to him.

There wasn’t all that much of a reaction on social media after this situation/close call between Herman and the bus outside of the Cotton Bowl, but it was definitely an interesting moment.

Herman has to be hoping that if a close call with this bus signifies anything for them today in Red River, it’s getting a win over Oklahoma by a narrow final score. The Longhorns can’t really afford another loss this season, since they already fell short last weekend to the TCU Horned Frogs in their Big 12 home opener.

Texas carries a record of 2-1 (1-1 Big 12) into Red River against Oklahoma. Their two wins of the season so far came over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in their Big 12 opener back on Sep. 26 and against the UTEP Miners in the season opener back on Sep. 12.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma carries a record of 1-2 (0-2 Big 12) into Red River, coming off an upset loss at the hands of the Iowa State Cyclones back on Oct. 3. Their other loss to open up Big 12 play came against the Kansas State Wildcats at home in Norman.
