How former Texas football transfers fared in Week 6
More awaited former Texas football transfer season debuts
Cameron Rising, Utah QB
There’s a handful of various former Texas transfers that are now playing with PAC-12 programs that haven’t made their season debut yet. The PAC-12 is set to begin its conference play for the 2020 season in early November. Former highly touted four-star recruit and Utah Utes redshirt sophomore quarterback Cameron Rising has yet to rack up any actual stats in game action for either of the two programs he’s played for to date.
Rising might get some game action this fall since he won’t lose a year of eligibility. And Utah opens up their season against at home on Nov. 7 against the Arizona Wildcats.
Bru McCoy, USC WR
Definitely the most disliked former Texas transfer on this list is the former elite five-star athlete recruit and California native Bru McCoy. It was a really weird saga for McCoy after transferring from USC to Texas, and then landing back with the Trojans by the beginning of summer workouts. McCoy didn’t get the clearance to play during his true freshman campaign.
He might be able to make his USC debut when they open up their 2020 season in PAC-12 play on Nov. 7 at home against the Arizona State Sun Devils.
Tristian Houston, Southwestern Oklahoma State RB
Former Texas running back Tristian Houston is mostly an afterthought for fans on the Forty Acres. But he is making a career for himself with Division II Southwestern Oklahoma State in the last 18 months or so. He tallied up more than 150 total yards and three rushing touchdowns in his first year at SWOSU. Since SWOSU hasn’t announced their plans officially for what they’re doing with their 2020 season schedule, Houston has to sit and wait if he is in fact still on the team.
