3) Rising 2021 Texas football targets

One of the latest targets of the Longhorns 2021 recruiting class to the party is the rising three-star Holy Cross strong-side defensive end Barryn Sorrell. This 6-foot-3 and 250 pound product hailing out of New Orleans, LA, received his official Texas scholarship offer back on Nov. 7. That was the latest offer he’s received, as of the afternoon of Nov. 20.

If the Longhorns do officially lose out on the race to land a commitment from the highly coveted four-star DeSoto defensive end Shemar Turner, then Texas might have to find answers at the position elsewhere. Turner is currently trending to land with head coach Jimbo Fisher and the Texas A&M Aggies, despite the Longhorns landing his teammate and linemate Murphy II.

After receiving his Texas offer, he’s now got 21 schools on his growing offer sheet. The other highlighting schools on Northwestern Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils, Baylor, Indiana Hoosiers, Louisville Cardinals, Mizzou Tigers, Vanderbilt Commodores, Virginia Cavaliers, and Washington State Cougars.

Moreover, Sorrell ranks as the nation’s No. 814 2021 high school prospect, No. 54 strong-side defensive end, and No. 22 prospect out of Louisiana (247Sports Composite). The Top247 ranks him as the No. 57 strong-side defensive end and No. 27 prospect out of Louisiana.

There’s not many solid defensive end targets remaining uncommitted for the Longhorns. This might be one to zone in on.
