Texas Football: 3 best Ayodele Adeoye transfer landing spots
What will be the best landing spot out of the portal for the former four-star Texas football linebacker recruit and redshirt sophomore Ayodele Adeoye?
Big transfer news dropped for the Texas football program on Jan. 8, with the announcement that redshirt sophomore linebacker Ayodele Adeoye would be entering the NCAA Transfer Portal. Texas couldn’t really afford to lose any linebacker depth at any point during the 2020 season, and that is largely true heading into this offseason.
It once again looks like the transfer portal will be a two way street for the Longhorns football program. Last offseason, now former fourth-year head coach Tom Herman and this Texas staff actually did reasonably well making something out of nothing with their transfer portal situation. Texas brought in former Michigan Wolverines wide receiver and senior Tarik Black and Oregon Ducks senior wideout Brenden Schooler out of the portal last offseason.
And heading into the 2021 offseason, Texas is very likely to turn to the transfer portal for help. The Longhorns already hired the current Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian to replace the fired Herman as the program’s next head coach.
On the morning of Jan. 2, the news dropped in the public eye that the Longhorns would be parting ways with Herman after four years at the helm and replacing him with the former USC Trojans and Washington Huskies head coach Sark. That will likely lead to a lot of volatility both in the transfer portal and on the recruiting trail during the looming offseason.
Once Sark arrives on the Forty Acres following the College Football Playoff National Championship Game next week, his duties of piecing together the Longhorns roster will begin for 2021. But he will have to start without the likes of Adeoye in the mix.
Here’s a look at three potential landing spots that the former Longhorns linebacker Adeoye could have out of the portal this offseason.
