Texas Football: 3 best Ayodele Adeoye transfer landing spots
2) Landing spots for former Texas football LB Adeoye
Oklahoma State
Another Power Five program that does frequently turn to the transfer portal for help on the defensive side of the ball is the Longhorns Big 12 foe Oklahoma State Cowboys. And head coach Mike Gundy and rising defensive coordinator Jim Knowles could be a solid landing spot out of the portal for the former blue chip recruit Adeoye.
The production that Adeoye brings with him from two years playing for Texas, and one year redshirting from back during the 2018 season, is solid when he was actually healthy. And that is something that could be appealing to the Pokes, who look like they will be losing a lot of depth on the defensive side of the ball during this offseason.
What Adeoye brings with him out of the transfer portal this offseason is 55 career combined tackles, three tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one interception, and two pass breakups. Most of his production came during his redshirt freshman campaign, in the 2019 season, where he got to play in just under a dozen games.
Moreover, Gundy, Knowles and the Pokes did sent Adeoye a scholarship offer when he was hailing out of IMG Academy during the 2018 recruiting cycle. Oklahoma State was never one of the front runners to land Adeoye’s commitment, but they could be player in recruiting him out of the portal now. This could be a program to watch in pursuit of his commitment out of the portal.
