The building 2022 Texas football recruiting class could get a solid boost from an underrated high school prospect in the very near future for newly hired head coach Steve Sarkisian and linebackers coach Jeff Choate. Texas was trending to land a commitment from the underrated three-star Arlington-Martin 6-foot-1 and 200 pound inside linebacker Trevell Johnson earlier in the week.

With Johnson scheduled to announce his commitment on the afternoon/evening of Feb. 13, specifically at 5 p.m. CT, the Longhorns might not have to wait all that long for their next addition to their 2022 recruiting class. If he does in fact give his commitment to Sark and the Longhorns this weekend, Johnson would be the first linebacker in the 2022 class.

He would also be the second prospect in this 2022 class playing on the defensive side of the ball, along with the highly touted four-star Memorial cornerback Jaylon Guilbeau.

Four expert 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions are now all trending unanimously in favor of Johnson giving his commitment to the Longhorns over the rest of the competition. Those expert Crystal Ball Predictions really started to pour in earlier this week.

The writing was on the wall for a good while now that it was very realistic for Johnson to land with the Longhorns. And he announced his decision date earlier in the week on his Twitter timeline that will be brought to the public eye this evening.

Johnson now holds offers from Texas and more than 15 other schools as of the morning of Feb. 13. The other highlighting schools on his offer sheet includes the Baylor Bears, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Arkansas Razorbacks, Colorado Buffaloes, LSU Tigers, Mizzou Tigers, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Ole Miss Rebels, SMU Mustangs, Tennessee Volunteers, Utah Utes, and Virginia Tech Hokies.

Moreover, he ranks as the nation’s No. 520 2022 high school prospect, No. 21 inside linebacker, and No. 65 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the No. 18 inside linebacker and No. 76 prospect out of Texas.

This could be the first of a bevy of commitments that Sark could get for the Longhorns 2022 class. The latest commitment to the Longhorns 2022 class came earlier in the month from the highly coveted four-star Klein Cain running back Jaydon Blue.
