4) 2022 prospects Sark can flip this offseason: Bear Alexander

If there was a way that Sark and recently hired former Alabama Crimson Tide defensive line coach Bo Davis could flip the commitment of the first prospect up on this list, there would be waves sent through the Longhorns 2022 class. Talented four-star Denton-Ryan 6-foot-3 and 325 pound defensive tackle Bear Alexander is one of the top prospects at his position for this cycle.

Texas looked to be one of the front runners at one point in the race to land a commitment of the in-state product Alexander. But it was head coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs that got the pledge of Alexander back on Feb. 3, 2021.

The Longhorns are one of nearly 30 schools that have sent Alexander a scholarship offer. But it’s been a while since the offers were rolling in for Alexander as his top schools were clear pretty early on in his recruitment. Other notable schools on his offer sheet includes the Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, LSU Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma, Texas A&M Aggies, and USC Trojans.

Texas is apparently still keeping in contact with Alexander even more than one month after he announced his commitment to Georgia. That could be a good sign of the efforts that Sark and his staff are putting in to keep their interest in Alexander alive.

Moreover, Alexander ranks as the nation’s No. 86 2022 high school prospect, No. 8 defensive tackle, and No. 17 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 100 high school prospect, No. 7 defensive tackle, and No. 19 prospect out of Texas.
