Underrated 2022 targets for Sark to flip No. 2: Amarion Brown

It is not often that the Longhorns are going to prioritize recruiting at one position group in a particular cycle as they have at wide receiver for their 2022 class. Especially with Stewart decommitting from Texas last week, the need at the wide receiver position is really going to look to get filled fast.

And a good potential rising target for Sark and the Longhorns 2022 class if they want to get back some talent at the wide receiver position is the talented and lengthy 6-foot-3 and 175 pound Martin County product Amarion Brown. This Rutgers Scarlet Knights commit and Florida native just announced his pledge to head coach Greg Schiano back on March 10.

It feels like the Longhorns should at least be able to make a decent pitch to Brown if Sark and second-year wide receivers coach Andre Coleman really went at it. Texas is already one of more than 15 schools that sit on Brown’s offer sheet.

Some of the other notable schools on Brown’s offer sheet includes the Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes, Florida Gators, Nebraska, Oregon Ducks, Penn State Nittany Lions, South Carolina Gamecocks, Texas A&M Aggies, Virginia Tech Hokies, and West Virginia Mountaineers.

Moreover, Brown currently ranks as the nation’s No. 298 2022 high school prospect, No. 44 wide receiver, and No. 36 prospect out of Florida (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the No. 35 wide receiver and No. 31 prospect out of Florida.

If Texas wants to replace losses at wideout in their 2022 class that have now amounted to four-star Lancaster product Phaizon Wilson and Stewart, Brown could be a good one to zone in on.
