Texas Football: Predicting next 2022 commit after DT Kristopher Ross
Predicting next 2022 commit No. 1: Denver Harris
One of the grand prize targets for the Longhorns 2022 class at this point in time is the elite 6-foot-1 and 180 pound North Shore cornerback Denver Harris. The Houston-area product is definitely one of the top remaining high school prospects available for Joseph, Sark, and the Longhorns since fellow five-star cornerback Domani Jackson committed elsewhere.
Texas offered Harris back on Aug. 30, 2019, so this program was after Harris for a good while now. But it was a much different-looking coaching staff that was going after Harris at that point.
Now it is Kwiatkowki and Joseph going after Harris. But that still appears to be going well for the Longhorns, who currently hold the edge in the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions to win over the commitment of Harris when it’s all said and done.
It’s hard to overstate how big it would be for the Longhorns 2022 class to be able to land a commitment from Harris. They were in on him pretty early on during his recruitment, which should still be a good sign moving forward.
Texas is one of more than three dozen schools to offer Harris as of the night of March 24. Some of the other schools to offer him includes the Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, Texas A&M, Auburn, Florida, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State Nittany Lions, TCU, Tennessee, and USC.
Moreover, Harris ranks as the nation’s No. 6 2022 high school prospect, No. 3 cornerback, and No. 2 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 20 high school prospect, No. 3 cornerback, and No. 5 prospect out of Texas.
