A former commit of the 2021 Texas football recruiting class, four-star Skyline wide receiver product, and Dallas-Forth Metroplex native Quaydarius Davis, ran into some trouble with the Kansas Jayhawks football program this week. The Kansas football program as a whole this offseason had its fair share of issues to deal with off-the-field, including having to also part ways with now former head coach Les Miles.

Davis was once one of the early commits in the Longhorns 2021 class. Former Texas head coach Tom Herman saw Davis decommit from the Longhorns, though, not too long after he originally gave his pledge to play on the Forty Acres.

Multiple reports confirmed that the school announced it would be parting ways with the former Texas commit Davis following accusations of domestic violence on social media earlier this month.

The 6-foot and 195 pound Davis was the highest-rated commit/signee in Kansas football history when he signed his Letter of Intent back on National Signing Day (Feb. 3, 2021). Davis gave his commitment to Kansas originally back on Jan. 2, 2021, and signed his Letter of Intent one month later on National Signing Day.

Davis had actually committed to three different schools before signing with Kansas more than one month ago. He had committed to the USC Trojans in May 2020, and Texas back in June 2019. The decommitment from Texas came in fall 2019.

Moreover, Davis ranked as the nation’s No. 142 2021 high school prospect, No. 23 wide receiver, and No. 22 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranked him as the nation’s No. 177 high school prospect, No. 25 wide receiver, and No. 28 prospect out of Texas.

Davis was the lone four-star signee in the 2021 Kansas class after National Signing Day. He was also the first four-star wide receiver commit in the Longhorns 2021 class two years ago. Texas, USC, and Kansas, were three of more than 20 schools that had originally sent Davis a scholarship offer coming out of high school.
