Building up strength along the offensive line will be a key goal for Sark and new offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood in the Longhorns 2022 class. Former Texas offensive line coach/co-offensive coordinator Herb Hand and Herman whiffed on a number of key targets in the trenches for the Longhorns 2021 class, which could hurt the program with this position group in the near future.

While it will live on in the minds of big-time Longhorns fans for a while that Texas missed out on the Brockermeyer brothers, five-star offensive guard Donovan Jackson, etc. this past recruiting cycle, Sark has an opportunity to turn these results around soon.

A good place to start is with the former Oklahoma State Cowboys commit and elite five-star Summer Creek 6-foot-5 and 300 pound offensive tackle Kelvin Banks. This Humble, TX, native is getting a lot of attention from programs in the state of Texas and around the Big 12 at the moment. It won’t be easy for Texas to get the commitment of Banks when it’s all said and done.

But the nation’s No. 31 2022 high school prospect, No. 2 offensive tackle, and No. 6 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite) is set to visit the Forty Acres on June 18. That is sandwiched between four other key official visits that Banks has lined up for the summer.

The four other key schools to watch this summer that Banks will be visiting include the Texas A&M Aggies, Oregon Ducks, LSU Tigers, and Oklahoma State. Texas will be in a dogfight for a while to try and get Banks in their 2022 class.
