Texas Football: 3 5-Star recruits coming to the forefront in April
A lot of movement seems like it could be just around the corner for new head coach Steve Sarkisian and the 2022 Texas football recruiting class this offseason. In the midst of spring ball and with official visits set to resume soon around the college football recruiting landscape, we could see more commitments coming down soon for Texas.
Sark and the Longhorns have a very promising recruiting cycle ahead if they can convert on the momentum they built in the couple of months after he was hired as head coach. Back on Jan. 2, Texas hired the former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator and reigning Broyles Award winner Sark to replace Tom Herman as their next head coach.
And the results that followed the hiring of Sark as the next Texas head coach were special. He landed multiple blue chip commits to get both the 2022 and 2023 classes off and running, especially at the skill positions.
Hot stretch ahead for the 2022 Texas football recruiting class?
Texas now holds commits from seven prospects in their 2022 class, with the highest-rated being the elite five-star Junipero Serra pro-style quarterback Maalik Murphy. And the latest commit in the 2022 class came from three-star North Shore defensive tackle Kristopher Ross.
