There are not going to be many more highly proven and talented guards that show up in the transfer portal that is already playing at a major conference level than the former Stanford Cardinal senior 6-foot-3 and 190 pound combo guard Daejon Davis. This former blue chip recruit and Seattle, WA, native does already look to have a lot of suitors to land his services too.

As the game of Davis improved for Stanford over the course of the last four seasons, his role didn’t really get much of an uptick. Since it didn’t feel like this was the best fit for him overall for what will be his final year of eligibility at the college level, putting his name in the portal made a lot of sense.

Davis has played in more than 100 career games with the Cardinal, so he will be one of the most experienced players to hit the portal this offseason. Although, he only played in just over a dozen games for the Cardinal last season. He averaged 10.3 points per game, 3.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.0 steals, and no blocks. And Davis shot 45.0 percent from the field, 35.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 81.1 percent from the free-throw line.

As one of the more highly-rated Cardinal recruits in recent memory, Davis could still have an NBA future ahead of him. Coming out of Garfield High School, he ranked as the nation’s No. 50 2017 high school prospect, No. 3 combo guard, and No. 3 prospect out of Washington (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranked him as the nation’s No. 58 high school prospect, No. 4 combo guard, and No. 3 prospect out of Washington.
