Ke’Travion Hargrove, RB

There was already one occasion where blue chip running back Ke’Travion Hargrove flipped his commitment from a Group of Five school to one out of the Power Five conferences. Hargrove originally gave his commitment to the hometown Louisiana Tech Bulldogs before flipping to the Mississippi State Bulldogs and head coach Mike Leach in the SEC West.

It was in July 2020 that Hargrove decommitted. He then gave his commitment to the Bulldogs on Jan. 27, just ahead of National Signing Day 2021. But Hargrove has yet to sign his letter of intent and enroll at Mississippi State this offseason.

If Texas does want to add depth at the running back position this offseason, then going after a prospect like Hargrove that has yet to sign his letter of intent could be a good move. Texas’ lone running back signee in the 2021 class came from the underrated four-star Hallettsville product Jonathon Brooks.

Texas never sent a scholarship offer Hargrove’s way during his recruitment ahead of National Signing Day. But Mississippi State and Louisiana Tech were two of more than 15 schools on his offer sheet. Some of the other notable schools on his offer sheet were the Baylor Bears, Florida State Seminoles, Michigan State, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Penn State, South Carolina Gamecocks, and SMU Mustangs.

Moreover, Hargrove ranks as the nation’s No. 319 2021 high school prospect, No. 15 running back, and No. 10 prospect out of Louisiana (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the No. 15 running back and No. 9 prospect out of Louisiana.
