Chicago Bears

There are not many more teams around the NFL landscape at the moment that need more help at the offensive tackle position than the Chicago Bears and head coach Matt Nagy. While the Bears do need an upgrade at a number of spots, especially on the offensive side of the ball, upgrading the offensive line would be a good place to start.

Since the Bears do have their first round draft pick this year set at No. 20, selecting Cosmi there might be a good move that they are already considering anyway. Cosmi is one of the best offensive tackles in this draft class, and one that would be able to fill a void right away for the Bears in the NFC North.

The current set of projected starters at the two offensive tackle spots for the Bears in 2021 are the former Texas A&M Aggie Germain Ifedi and former Boise State Bronco Charles Leno Jr.

A seventh round pick of the Bears back in the 2014 NFL Draft, Leno Jr. presents more of a sure thing than Ifedi. Leno Jr. is a reliable one-time Pro Bowl selection (back in 2018) that has started in every single regular season game for the Bears since 2015.

Cosmi might be able to compete for a starting spot with the Bears with Ifedi if he were to land in the Windy City in this year’s draft. A passing and rushing offense that both ranked in the bottom dozen teams in the NFL from last year could certainly use the help in the trenches.
