Texas Basketball: Predicting next transfer addition after Dylan Disu
Moussa Cisse, C
One of the newer potential transfer targets to the party this offseason is the former Memphis Tigers 6-foot-10 and 220 pound big man Moussa Cisse. Earlier this week, Cisse’s name popped up in the transfer portal, and he’ll immediately become one of the more highly sought-after targets at this point of the offseason for any team that needs help in their frontcourt rotation.
Cisse is a former elite five-star recruit that was one of the headlining prospects in Memphis’ 2020 signing class. He ranked as the nation’s No. 10 2020 high school prospect, No. 2 center, and the top overall prospect out of Tennessee (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranked him as the nation’s No. 12 high school prospect, No. 2 center, and top overall prospect out of Tennessee.
The Memphis, TN, native had a solid true freshman campaign with the Tigers but decided to put his name in the portal and test the waters this offseason of where he could take his talents to next.
The American Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year and AAC-All Freshman-Team selection had a solid true freshman campaign at Memphis In 28 games played last season, Cisse averaged 14.1 points per 40 minutes, 13.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.6 steals, and 3.5 blocks.
Since Texas could still use some help at the five this offseason, Cisse could be a good transfer portal target for them. With the likes of senior center Jericho Sims, freshman power forward Greg Brown, senior big man Royce Hamm, freshman center Will Baker, junior forward Gerald Liddell, and sophomore power forward Kai Jones, all potentially gone by way of the NBA Draft or transfer portal, this spot could use a depth boost.
