Shadrach Banks, WR

Definitely the most relevant target among the three Aggie transfers on this list at the moment for the Longhorns out of the portal is the former four-star recruit and early enrollee Shadrach Banks. It was less than six months ago that the Aggies got the Houston-area product Banks to sign his National Letter of Intent back during the Early Signing Period.

And Texas A&M looked to have a good one in the mix among their early enrollees from the 2021 signing class for spring camp in the former North Shore High School athlete. The 6-foot and 220 pound Banks was also a big-time target on the recruiting trail for former head coach Tom Herman and the Longhorns 2021 class. But he got away from them this past recruiting cycle.

Now it appears that the likes of Sark and second-year wide receivers coach Andre Coleman could win his interests over to the Forty Acres. Texas was already in contact with Banks to gauge his interest level in committing to the program this week. And it does look as if the biggest competitors out of the portal to land Banks will be the Longhorns Big 12 foe TCU Horned Frogs.

Texas and Texas A&M were two of more than 30 schools on Banks’ lengthy offer sheet. And he ranked as the nation’s No. 111 2021 high school prospect, No. 18 wide receiver, and No. 17 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranked him as the nation’s No. 127 high school prospect, No. 17 wide receiver, and No. 20 prospect out of Texas.

If the Longhorns were to get a commitment from Banks out of the portal this offseason, he could play either at linebacker or defensive back if they switch him to the other side of the ball.
