An underrated name to recently show up in the transfer portal this offseason is the former Xavier Musketeers 6-foot-2 and 190 pound sophomore guard KyKy Tandy. A former talented four-star recruit that was a big part of Xavier’s 2019 signing class, Tandy is one of the bigger names to show up in the transfer portal of late.

Since Texas could use one more addition out of the transfer portal this offseason to round out the backcourt rotation following the departure of former senior standout guard Matt Coleman to the NBA Draft, Tandy could be a name to watch. Texas does have a decent backcourt rotation still coming back. Beard and the Longhorns will get back the likes of redshirt junior shooting guard/wing Andrew Jones, junior Courtney Ramey, and they bring in the former blue chip recruit Askew.

Tandy could be that finishing touch to the Longhorns backcourt rotation. He was a solid guard for the Musketeers over the course of the last two seasons, and he was named to the Big East All-Freshman team back during the shortened 2019-20 campaign.

Showing a lot of rapid improvement in his game last season, there is a still lot of development left for Tandy. His counting stats were about the same as his true freshman campaign, but he was a lot more efficient.

In 18 games played with Xavier last season, Tandy averaged 6.6 points per game, 1.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.1 blocks. And he shot 37.9 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from beyond the arc, and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line.
