Henry To’o To’o, LB

Not many better names showed up in the transfer portal this offseason at the linebacker position than the former highly-touted four-star recruit and the 6-foot-2 and 225 pound sophomore Henry To’o To’o. A now-former Tennessee Volunteers standout inside linebacker and Concord, CA, native was a nice find for head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide out of the portal this offseason.

It was just back on May 8 that Saban and the Crimson Tide landed a commitment from To’o To’o out of the portal. This was one of the biggest moves out of the transfer portal of any defensive player this offseason across the college football landscape.

What To’o To’o did for the Vols in the past two seasons was special, and he is one of the better sophomore linebackers in the SEC in 2021.

In 22 games over the course of the last two seasons, To’o To’o registered 140 combined tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one interception (which was returned for a touchdown), four pass breakups, and one fumble recovery.

Texas had some nice additions out of the transfer portal at the linebacker position, including Thornton, Davis, Devin Richardson, and maybe even former USC Trojan Palaie Gaoteote IV. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that the Longhorns did miss out on maybe the best linebacker in the portal this offseason in To’o To’o.
