What looks to be the two best Longhorns returning along the offensive line this year are a pair of underappreciated former four-star recruits in senior offensive guard/center Derek Kerstetter and junior offensive guard Junior Angilau. Kerstetter and Angilau bring a plethora of proven production back to the Forty Acres this year.

Texas will need some new starters step up in the spotlight this fall in the trenches after the loss of a true consistent stud in Cosmi. Names to watch include sophomores Andrej Karic and Jake Majors.

At 6-foot-6 and 300 pounds and with solidified footwork and fundamentals in nearly every area of his game, Angilau could have a shot to boost his NFL Draft stock this year. There is still a lot on the line for him heading into his third year as a starter.

Angilau was one of the more effective pass blockers last year in front of Ehlinger. He allowed less than 15 quarterback pressures, and just two sacks, in more than 700 snaps played. Of his 723 snaps he played in for the Longhorns last fall, 400 of them were in pass blocking.

The switchability that Angilau brings to the table is also key to note. He played all of his snaps at left guard last season but spent most of his time at right guard during his freshman campaign in 2019. Angilau also played at both tackle spots in high school.
