Tren’Davian Dickson, WR

Almost every single former Texas commit on this list that also signed with Baylor at one point in time had a pretty crazy road through their college career to date. That definitely rings true for the Navasota High School product and Texas native former four-star wide receiver recruit Tren’Davian Dickson.

There was a point when Dickson was committed to Baylor, Texas, the Houston Cougars, and even FCS Texas Southern. The first school that he eventually signed with was Baylor, as part of the 2016 recruiting class for former head coach Art Briles. But following the Baylor scandal, Dickson hit the transfer market and eventually landed with Houston and their former head coach Tom Herman.

It is interesting that with the Herman connection, Dickson didn’t eventually land back on the Forty Acres.

Before even playing a single snap with Houston, Dickson would wind up transferring again to join Texas Southern at the FCS level. The first season where Dickson really saw action at Texas Southern was in 2018. In his career in total with Texas Southern, he’s now got more than 1,000 receiving yards and more than 10 touchdown catches.

When the likes of Texas and Baylor, among others, recruited Dickson out of high school, he was one of the most highly touted wide receivers in his class. He ranked as the nation’s No. 104 2016 high school prospect, No. 14 wide receiver, and No. 16 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranked him as the nation’s No. 159 high school prospect, No. 29 wide receiver, and No. 27 prospect out of Texas.
