An initial set of game details was announced for the Texas football program for the upcoming 2021 season on May 18. In an official release from the school on May 18, Texas announced the kickoff time for their non-conference meeting with the Arkansas Razorbacks and some additional game details for the Red River Rivalry game against the Oklahoma Sooners.

Texas is set to face an old rival in Arkansas on the road on Sep. 11. And the game details that were released for this outing make it a primetime showdown that will be televised in front of a national audience on ESPN. This game between Texas and Arkansas is set to kickoff on Sep. 11 at 6 p.m. CT.

The announcement of the kickoff time between Texas and Arkansas is the first to do so for any game on the Longhorns schedule this fall.

And the game details that were released for Red River against the Sooners, set for Oct. 9 at the Texas State Fairgrounds in Dallas, did not include the kickoff time. Yet we do now know that the game will once again be aired in front of a national television audience on ESPN/ABC. Fox will not be the one broadcasting Red River this year.

Thus far, ESPN/ABC is the only television network known to have at least one game on the books for the Longhorns this fall. Fox usually gets a host of the Big 12 games each season, but none of those television dates were announced in relation to the Longhorns as of yet. And Longhorn Network gets a couple of games annually for Texas.
