Amid the more underrated recruits that you can find still uncommitted beyond National Signing Day 2021 at this point of the offseason is the threes-tar West Oaks Academy 6-foot-1 and 175-pound combo guard AJ Neal. This Florida native guard could be a solid underrated find for the Longhorns 2021 class if they want to add more talent to the program from the ground up.

Texas does already have four additions by way of the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason. Getting another addition through their 2021 recruiting class could add some talent to build the program over a longer period of time.

The Longhorns were able to get in on the recruitment of Neal while Smart was still the head coach. But Texas can still stay in the race to land a commitment from Neal if he’s interested in coming to the Forty Acres. Prioritizing the newfound ability to make an immediate impact in the backcourt rotation could be a pitch that Texas uses to appeal to Neal if he’s a target.

There are a whopping more than two dozen schools on the lengthy offer sheet of Neal as of May 24. Some of the notable schools on his offer sheet are Auburn, Florida State, the Kansas State Wildcats, NC State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss Rebels, SMU, and TCU Horned Frogs.

Neal is a potent combo guard that has a well-rounded offensive game and is still growing on defense. He’s also a solid shooter from deep, and he looks to run well in transition.

Moreover, he ranks as the nation’s No. 136 2021 high school prospect, No. 12 combo guard, and No. 18 prospect out of Florida (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the No. 15 combo guard and No. 19 prospect out of Florida.
