Chuks Isitua, C

The second of two prospects on this list that the Longhorns have yet to offer at this point that could be an option for them to pursue on the recruiting trail for the 2021 class is the three-star Yates (TX) 6-foot-10 and 220-pound center Chuks Isitua. Texas has not offered Isitua yet, but he is a local product that is geographically relevant to the Forty Acres. He hails out of Houston, TX.

If the Longhorns have senior big man Jericho Sims returning for next season, then the need at the center position does drop a bit. But it makes sense for Texas to try and find an insurance policy for the depth in the frontcourt rotation since there’s a good chance that Sims takes his talents to the next level this year. He already started the process of preparing for the 2021 NBA Draft.

There are only five schools at this moment in time that have sent an offer Isitua’s way. Those schools on his offer sheet are the DePaul Blue Demons, Houston Cougars, Iona Gaels, Detroit Titans, and the Tennessee State Tigers.

Isitua is a Houston-area product that is a native of Cypress, TX. And he is one that has a high ceiling and hits the glass hard, is working on expanding his range, and can protect the rim.

Moreover, Isitua ranks as the nation’s No. 288 2021 high school prospect, No. 43 center, and No. 18 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the No. 37 center and No. 16 prospect out of Texas.
