Ja’Tavion Sanders, ATH

The potential that the elite five-star Denton-Ryan athlete Ja’Tavion Sanders comes onto the Forty Acres with this summer is nothing short of incredible. Sanders was the top signee in the Longhorns 2021 class, and the incoming freshman that will have the most eyes on him entering summer workouts.

It will be interesting to see how Sark and the Longhorns new coaching staff decides to use Sanders heading into the fall. Sanders could play on either side of the ball for Texas. A lot of his snaps at Denton-Ryan came at tight end on offense, and as a defensive end/edge rusher on defense.

But his insanely gifted physical tools at 6-foot-4 and 240 pound allows him to be very switchable for Sark and the Longhorns. Sanders is going to be that type of player that is going to be difficult for Sark to take off the field in almost any situation on either side of the ball. Although, it does sound like the plan out of the gates is to use Sanders in the receiving corps.

If Sanders can translate his enormous frame and raw physical ability to become a versatile blocker that also is reliable in the passing game, then the ability for him to make an immediate impact will be complete. Watch out for Texas to also try and use Sanders to fill some of the gaps in the pass rush, with so much turnover at that level of the defense.
