Xavier Worthy, WR

It’s insane to think what the former Michigan Wolverines four-star Central East wide receiver commit Xavier Worthy could do out of the gates for Sark and the Longhorns. In this new Texas offensive scheme that should really be able to take the top off of opposing defenses in Big 12 play, the potential for Worthy should be limitless.

And that appeal is likely what largely drew Worthy to the Forty Acres after getting a release from his signed National Letter of Intent with Michigan. The decision for Worthy after he requested a release from his LOI looked to come down to Texas and Alabama. But it was that connection with Sark that won the day for the Longhorns when it was all said and done to flip the commitment of the California native.

As one of the fastest players already for the Longhorns, it will be special for this team to see what Worthy can do in summer workouts. Worthy is insanely speedy and elusiveness, as someone who can run a sub 10.6 second 100 meter dash and a 200 meters in less than 21.5 seconds. His speed is what should really make an early impact in the Texas receiving corps.

Watching Worthy burn opposing defenders in his high school and 7-on-7 highlights should be an offseason favorite of Texas fans. But what will really make it count is how Worthy shows out for Sark and the Longhorns this fall. If he’s able to show out in summer workouts and fall camp, the door should open for him to get early playing time this coming season.
