Texas Football: Predicting next 2022 commit after ATH Anthony Jones
Bryce Anderson, S
To say that there is one particular target that is more important than another right now in the Longhorns 2022 class (maybe outside of the elite five-star North Shore cornerback Denver Harris), would be tough to configure. Texas has a plethora of key defensive back targets on the recruiting trail for their 2022 class, and a lot of them will be on campus for official visits this month (or already have been).
But with the uber-talented four-star 6-foot and 190 pound West Brook (TX) safety Bryce Anderson already having a set decision date in mind, the next one up might be less than one month away. Anderson is set for a July 4 decision date, which is set to come a little over one week after his official visit with Texas on June 25.
Anderson will be one of the final visitors on the Forty Acres this month, which could be good timing given his decision date in early July. Texas could have the final word in how his recruitment is trending ahead of his commitment.
The other schools to watch in pursuit of Anderson are the Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas A&M Aggies, and LSU Tigers. Alabama is set to host an official visit with Anderson on June 18, and Texas A&M already had him for one on June 4.
It is also worth noting that head coach Jimbo Fisher and the rival Aggies hosted an unofficial visit with Anderson on June 9. Texas A&M could be the main school competing for Anderson when it’s all said and done, along with Alabama and Texas. New Texas safeties coach Blake Gideon and cornerbacks coach Terry Joseph will definitely have their work cut out for them in keeping Anderson favored to land with the Longhorns.
