Kelvin Banks, OT

Five-star Summer Creek 6-foot-5 and 300-pound offensive tackle Kelvin Banks is one of the most hotly discussed names among recruits on the Forty Acres at the moment. Banks was on campus for his official visit with the Longhorns this month this past weekend. And he could be one of the biggest targets for this 2022 class throughout the summer months.

This is a very busy month of visits for the Humble, TX, native Banks that is not over yet. While that June 18 official visit with the Longhorns was a big one for Banks, it’s very important to watch what happens with his visit with Texas A&M this coming weekend. Texas A&M is set to host an official visit with Banks on June 24.

Texas has new offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and special teams coordinator Jeff Banks after Banks as his top recruiters. Texas A&M has their offensive line coach Josh Henson after Banks. This should be a good battle to watch on the recruiting trail moving forward, and Banks is likely to make a late summer decision.

It won’t be too long after the visits conclude this month for Banks that he looks to be set to make his decision. Granted that is always a timeline that can change with a prospect that has as many suitors as the former Oklahoma State Cowboys commit Banks.

It is also worth noting that there was one expert 247Sports Crystal Ball Prediction favoring Banks to give his commitment to Texas over the rest of the field following his visit to Austin last weekend.
