In what was already a crazy week thus far for the 2022 Texas football recruiting class and new head coach Steve Sarkisian, things don’t look like they will calm down anytime soon. The dead period entering the month of July could be just as action-packed as the month of June with all of the official and unofficial visitors.

But now it’s time for Texas to wait and see what the fruits of their labor will be from the busy month of June visits.

It didn’t take long at all for Sark and the Longhorns to get their first commitment of the dead period this week. On the evening of June 28, the Longhorns got a commitment from four-star Tyler Legacy (TX) running back Jamarion Miller. That was the first non-special teams commitment for the Longhorns since three-star Liberty (NV) athlete Anthony Jones, back in the middle of visit season this month.

The real significance of the commitment from Miller seems like that it will be a real turning point on the recruiting trail for Sark and his staff. Although the results on the recruiting trail thus far for the Longhorns as head coach, he has experienced some volatility in the past three months.

With so many decisions set to be announced within the next three or four weeks during this dead period, more action is sure to be on the horizon for Texas. Who could they be adding soon to the 2022 class?
