Texas Football: 2 RB teammates that Bijan Robinson praised
Big 12 Media Days came and went with a number of headlines concerning the Texas football program and new head coach Steve Sarkisian. But it wasn’t only Sark that showed up and made some notable headlines for Texas in the past week at Big 12 Media Days in Arlington, TX.
Texas also had the likes of star sophomore running back Bijan Robinson and redshirt junior defensive tackle Keondre Coburn as representatives for the program at Big 12 Media Days. Bijan especially had a lot of attention on him in Arlington as he is one of the more hyped-up skill position players in the entire country heading into next season.
There was a point where Sark even compared parts of the game of Bijan to the likes of the former USC Trojans superstar running back Reggie Bush. That is a pretty lofty comparison, but it is one that Bijan will be hoping to at least come close to living up to this fall.
Bijan Robinson setting the tone for the Texas football running back room in 2021
The way that Bijan finished out last season definitely inspires the confidence that he will be one of the very best running backs around the college football landscape at the outset of the 2021 campaign.
Bijan averaged north of 18 yards per carry and 18 yards per catch in the regular season finale and Alamo Bowl win over the Colorado Buffaloes to round out last season. He was about as efficient as it gets for the Longhorns to conclude his true freshman campaign.
But it was nice to see Bijan have some nice words to say about some of his fellow members of the Texas running backs room. Bijan reportedly praised two of his running back teammates with the Longhorns at Big 12 Media Days, and rightly so.
Here’s a deeper look into which of the running back teammates Bijan praised at Big 12 Media Days and how this group will come together this fall.
