Keilan Robinson

One of the biggest additions for Sark and the Longhorns this offseason by way of the NCAA Transfer Portal was the former Alabama Crimson Tide blue-chip recruit and sophomore running back Keilan Robinson. It wasn’t that expected that the Longhorns were going to get a commitment out of the transfer portal from Robinson, but it was certainly good news for this coaching staff.

Texas didn’t really need to add depth in the running back room this summer, but it’s hard to argue with bringing someone with as much potency as Keilan into the mix.  Sark really now has a top trio at running back this fall that could be one of the best in the entire country.

And it’s nice to hear the top dog in this running back room, Bijan, give some kind words Keilan’s way ahead of the start of fall camp. Keilan really didn’t have much time to make a positive impression since he arrived on campus this summer. But in the limited time for him in Austin thus far, he’s certainly made the right impression.

With a sample size of just 39 carries during one year actually playing for the Crimson Tide, Keilan registered 254 rushing yards (6.5 yards per carry) and two rushing scores.

It’s hard to know how the pecking order in the running back room will stack up this fall. But we do know that he should be one of the top three rushers for Sark and the Longhorns out of the gates in 2021.
