This prospect that is also a Texas commit decided to skip his senior year of high school football before it was cool. But the difference between the Ohio State Buckeyes new enrollee and former five-star Southlake Carroll quarterback recruit Quinn Ewers and the four-star Klein Cain running back Jaydon Blue is the fact that the latter of the two won’t enroll early.

Texas will just get fresh legs from Blue once he arrives on the Forty Acres next year. Whether he arrives as an early enrollee (which is what we anticipate will happen), or as a summer enrollee, Texas will be getting a very solid addition to the running back room. Texas already has a very strong mix at running back, thanks to the efforts from positional coach Stan Drayton and Sark.

It’s hard to imagine how potent a Texas running back room featuring the likes of star sophomore Bijan Robinson, incoming freshman Jonathon Brooks, former Alabama Crimson Tide transfer Keilan Robinson, junior Roschon Johnson, Blue, and fellow four-star 2022 commit Jamarion Miller, could look like. Texas has a stronger pipeline recruiting at running back than just about any other position group at the moment.

Yet, the reason why Blue makes this list in the first place is that he has slipped in the national recruiting rankings since he announced he would be skipping his senior year at Klein Cain for football. A running back with his top-tier level speed and elusiveness is a five-star talent.

The fact that the 247Sports Composite ranks him outside of the top 100 high school prospects in the nation is a bit disrespectful to his talent level.
