Texas Football: 5 key recruits that were impressed by win over UL
Isaiah Robinson, OT
Another 2023 prospect that could be key for the Longhorns that also is a highlighting force in the class of offensive linemen for this cycle out of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is the four-star Arlington-Lamar offensive tackle, Isaiah Robinson. As one of the first schools on Robinson’s offer sheet, Texas should be high on his list if the relationship continues to develop with this coaching staff.
This will be a big recruitment for new offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood to get right. Texas has a big need at the offensive tackle position in the 2022 and 2023 classes, as evident by the poor showing in the trenches in the season opener.

The towering 6-foot-7 and 280-pound offensive lineman already looks like a priority for Texas. And Texas is heading in the right direction with him following this win over Louisiana. He reportedly stated that he “thought the offense looked really good”.
Robinson also mentioned in particular that it was “impressive” that Texas “dominated Louisiana in the trenches”. And while the numbers might tell a bit of a different story, it’s good that Robinson appears to buy into the potential with this group under Flood’s direction.
Texas hasn’t landed a blue-chip offensive tackle since the 2020 signing class, with four-star Jaylen Garth. Getting someone like Robinson in the mix as an initial commit in the 2023 class would be massive.
Robinson is one of the higher-rated in-state 2023 offensive line prospects that the Longhorns have offered thus far. He ranks as the nation’s No. 215 2023 high school prospect, No. 11 offensive tackle, and No. 33 prospect out of Texas (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 178 high school prospect, No. 11 offensive tackle, and No. 28 prospect out of Texas.
