Jaeden Gould, CB

The other top USC cornerback commit that would be worth pursuing to see his interest in Texas is the touted four-star Bergen Catholic (NJ) product Jaeden Gould. Even though he’s not as highly coveted as Jackson, Gould could still be an excellent addition for the Longhorns 2022 class a few months out from the Early Signing Period.

Texas did offer the New Jersey native Gould back in September 2020, so the relationship existed with the previous coaching staff. And Sark has the resources to go out and get a blue-chip on either coast. But most of his connections with this current coaching staff are on the west coast, not the northeast around New Jersey.

This would definitely be a challenge for Sark and the Longhorns to even test the waters in Gould’s interest.

Nonetheless, with an offer already out to him and no other blue-chip cornerback commits at the moment in the 2022 class, it is definitely worth Texas at least reaching out to Gould. This should be considered a backup option that Texas can start putting in place now with Gould if it doesn’t work out in the end with former four-star cornerback commit and Memorial product Jaylon Guilbeau.

Gould could still be a very nice cornerback commit to have in the 2022 class if Texas can’t get any of the trio of Harris, Jackson, and/or Guilbeau. He ranks as the nation’s No. 156 2022 high school prospect, No. 19 cornerback, and No. 2 prospect out of New Jersey (247Sports Composite). And the Top247 ranks him as the nation’s No. 128 high school prospect, No. 17 cornerback, and the top overall prospect out of New Jersey.
