One of the more immediate prospects that comes to mind when Longhorns fans think of who the top target should be in the coming weeks and months for the 2022 class is the elite five-star Bowie interior offensive lineman Devon Campbell. The 6-foot-3 and 310-pound offensive lineman hailing out of Arlington, TX, could be a staple piece of the Longhorns 2022 class.

Campbell has remained a top priority for Texas dating back to the days before the Sark coaching regime took over. Texas offered Campbell way back when it was then head coach Tom Herman and offensive line coach Herb Hand leading the way in his recruitment.

Now, it’s pretty much solely up to new offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood to win over this recruitment. Texas does seem to sit in a great position with Campbell in the fall. But it will still be a battle for Texas from here on out. It’s big for Texas to get Campbell on an unofficial visit for the Rice game this weekend.

All four of the expert 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions in for Campbell right now have him landing with Texas. And the Rivals FutureCast has all of their analysts and publishers picking Campbell to land with Texas.

This will be the first visit for Campbell to Austin, officially or unofficially, since the month of June. And this will be huge for Texas to leave Campbell with a positive impression during his time on the Forty Acres this weekend.

The next visit officially on the books for Campbell at the moment is set to come with head coach Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide on Oct. 2. Texas needs to make sure they leave this visit on the right foot with one of the top remaining priorities in Campbell during this unofficial visit.
