One Texas commit that has managed to continue to stay in the thick of the spotlight this fall, above most of the other prospects in the Longhorns 2022 class, is the touted four-star Klein Cain running back Jaydon Blue. Not only for his voice on social media surrounding the Longhorns this fall, but also for missing his senior season for Klein Cain, Blue has remained in the headlines this year.

Blue will at least come onto the Forty Acres with fresh legs with another blue-chip running back commit in Jamarion Miller. Texas has a lot of potential with the future of this running back room.

And the excitement surrounding the future of this running back room has to be something that has key recruits, like Blue and five-star 2023 El Campo rusher Rueben Owens, chomping at the bit about what could be to come on the Forty Acres for this position group.

The excitement that Blue has about playing for Texas was evident during and after this win over Texas Tech this weekend.

Blue was outspoken on social media this weekend, and he looked especially impressed by what star sophomore running back Bijan Robinson did for the Texas offense against a hapless Texas Tech defense. The way that the likes of Bijan, junior running back Roschon Johnson, redshirt sophomore Keilan Robinson, etc. played, had to make the right impression with Blue.

All in all, it’s not like Blue is a threat to de-commit from the Longhorns 2022 class a few months out from the Early Signing Period. But it’s still key to keep recruits like this, even when they are already committed to the Longhorns, engaged with the program each passing fall.
