More and more criticism keeps coming the way of new Texas football head coach Steve Sarkisian in the midst of this four-game losing streak following a really embarrassing 23-point loss to the Iowa State Cyclones and head coach Matt Campbell on the road last weekend. The loss to Iowa State last weekend also gave Texas their first losing record of the season.

This is also the first losing record for the Longhorns since the last time the program lost in a season opener. Getting that mark was not the way that Sark and the Longhorns wanted to get going this fall. The Big 12 slate was extremely disappointing thus far.

Texas is pretty much officially eliminated from the running to get a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game, and the team would have to win out to even have a winning record in conference play. Winning out is doable, considering the most difficult Big 12 opposition is now out of the way.

Can Steve Sarkisian still get Texas football headed in the right direction?

But to say right now that the Longhorns are going to easily beat the Kansas Jayhawks, West Virginia Mountaineers, and Kansas State Wildcats in the next three games seems to be a far cry from reality.

Nonetheless, with all of the doubt surrounding Sark and his staff at the moment, some faith does still remain that he can eventually right the ship. He’ll need to get his guys in here to establish the culture and schemes he wants because whatever he’s doing right now is not working.

Do that, and Sark can likely get this program off the ground at least. Here’s a look into three reasons why Sark can still eventually right the ship for the Longhorns.
