Another important in-state wide receiver target on the recruiting trail for Sark, Coleman and the Longhorns is the talented four-star Flower Mound-Marcus product, Ashton Cozart. Among the 2023 wide receiver prospects that Coleman has connected with of late, Cozart seems to be near the top of the list.

Most signs seem to be pointing to Texas emerging as one of the major front runners in the race to land a commitment from Cozart. Multiple visits since the summer that apparently went well with Texas indicate the growing relationship between Cozart and the Texas coaching staff.

Cozart recently announced a top six that included the Longhorns among some other big-time schools. The other schools in his top five were the Texas A&M Aggies, TCU, Miami Hurricanes, Florida Gators, and Oklahoma Sooners.

Cozart is one of the more active Texas targets on social media, and he posts about the Longhorns often. There is definitely mutual interest here and more prioritization from Texas entering next offseason could mean more interest coming back from Cozart.

Don’t sleep on this recruitment as it could be one of the more talked about of the early portion of next offseason. Cozart seems to not be phased by the losing streak Texas is on right now. And if the 2023 Longhorns class starts to build in the right direction in the next couple of months, Cozart could be a potential commitment to watch out for.
